Figurine is an X11 editor for xfig FIG3.2-format vector graphics. It is simpler to use than xfig while providing a mostly similar feature set. Figurine can output in any format supported by the fig2dev utility (provided with the external package transfig).

KToon is a 2D animation toolkit designed by
animators (Toonka Films) for animators, focused on
the cartoon industry.

Netpbm2Gimp automatically compiles the unmodified
source code of a Netpbm graphics program into a
GIMP plug-in. The result looks and functions like
any other GIMP plug-in, although it takes much
less effort to produce than a hand-coded GIMP plug-in.

Flowpaint is a next generation paint program that
focuses on usability and power. It's cross
platform and supports pressure sensitive graphics
tablets. Planned features for future versions
include user-editable procedural brushes, brushes
created from pictures, layers with arbitrary data
channels, infinite and wrapping canvas layouts,
parametrized picture templates, and built-in
support for downloading and sharing new brushes
and templates.

Fandango is a GL-rendered, Python-scripted CAD
program. The low-level functionality is programmed
in C++, and then the relevant functions are
exposed to Python and used as building blocks for
more functions. Currently the memory core allows
lines, triangles, line strips, and triangle
strips. Texture, blending, and lighting can be
switched on and off from a command line.

Picasso is a high quality vector graphic rendering library. It supports paths, matrices, gradients, patterns, images, and TrueType fonts. It is like Cairo, GDI Plus, and Quartz2D. It is based on AGG for raster rendering.

ida is a small and fast image viewer for X11. A simple file browser and some basic editing functions are available too.

MultiSlice RTP is a radiotherapy treatment
planning and medical image processing system
developed for Silicon Graphics MIPS architecture
systems and the IRIX operating system (5.3 and
above). It allows you to manipulate upto 20 2D CT
image slices as one 3D slice and run bulk batch
processing algorithms on the images loaded.
Written in C and linked against the MOTIF toolkit,
it also runs on Xfree/Linux/Lesstif and can load
RAW CT images from a CT scanner directly.

Unix Image Manager is an advanced image processor
that allows users to resize and filter images, or
multiply, add, etc. images with other images or a
given value.

Pinta is a drawing/editing program modeled after Paint.NET. Its goal is to provide a simplified alternative to GIMP for casual users. It currently supports most basic drawing tools, unlimited layers, unlimited undo history, and a wide array of image adjustments and effects.

The Java Vision Toolkit is an advanced imaging GUI/
library for machine vision and image processing
applications. It provides a framework for machine vision
and image processing algorithms for 2D and 3D images.

libmsvg is a minimal and generic library to read and write SVG files. It concentrates on a small subset of SVG to be useful.

Instant Picture Creator is a wrapper to produce
images on demand for Web sites. It has filter
management, and it's possible to add new filters.
It can cache filtered images, works independently
(no backend is needed), and is easy to integrate
with existing Web sites. It includes two basic
filters for resizing images and manipulating
colour palettes. Currently it supports PNG, GIF,
and JPEG.
