DAE-MAN PROJECT

AngelReader: An E-Book and Audio-Book Loader

The maker of the AngelReader program is the DAE-MAN Project. The name "Daeman" itself was of Old Greek origin and is more popularly known in its English and German lexical form "Damian". The primary meaning of the name is "tamer" (https://www.babynamespedia.com/meaning/Damian). This name expresses one of the chief aims of the project which is to tame the forces of nature through science and technology for the service and betterment of mankind in general, and of each man, woman, and child in particular without discrimination as to race, skin color, social status, or external circumstances.

The name "DAE-MAN" is hyphenated because the term "DAE" taken in itself is a feminine name in the Korean language, which means "greatness" (https://www.everydayfamily.com/baby-names/name/dae/). The name therefore symbolizes in our mind the great potential that each human has and that each is capable of achieving through mutual tolerance, compassionate understanding, selfless cooperation, and earnestly trying to do one's best always with persistence.

The project is our own small and humble way to contribute towards world betterment. We began by releasing the AngelReader as a Free/Open Source software, a program that can load e-books and audio-books in a single software in a user-friendly environment with minimalist style that doesn't hog both the computer's hardware and software resources.

AngelReader comes in releases that will feature the great classical literature of the world. The ever expanding universe of the public domain treasury -- historical, cultural, social, economic, philosophical, religious, and scientific -- will be one of the rich resources for the project that will give us enough material that will last for more than a lifetime of learning, serving, and sharing.

The ultimate purpose is of course to foster understanding, peace, love, and harmony inside ( with ourselves) and outside (with our fellow creatures), for what is the use of all the material, external, technological, and so-called scientific advancement if we don't learn the way of inner peace and love!
