Aquamacs Emacs

A comprehensive text editing environment, with specialized support for nearly every computer language and text/markup format. New Mac-style icons, menus, and keyboard shortcuts for greater ease of use. Cursor, mouse, and window behavior as is common on the Mac. Support for Unicode encodings and various others, specifically some Asian encodings and some input methods. Comprehensive user documentation in standard Apple Help format. Based on GNU Emacs 22.1.

This release has Mac-style printing with preview, export to PDF and HTML, spelling suggestions with flyspell, a new buffer in mode / change major mode menus, a context menu (right mouse click), speed improvements, included nXML and AUCTeX, improved text display (international characters and proportional fonts), more compatibility with the core GNU Emacs, and an updated Emacs Manual. The "wrong command-p" bug has been fixed, and there are other changes.

This release provides extended input methods for Korean, Japanese, and Chinese (GB/BIG5). You can select them in the Options menu under "Aquamacs Multilingual Environment" / "Set Language Environment": everything is integrated with Mule. In order to load more fixed-width fonts suitable for use with Asian languages, you may want to load the carbon-font package. There are bugfixes in CSS mode, two-screen setups, osx-key-mode-map (key binding redefinitions), "font-lock-keywords" (when loading new files), and hanging on quit.

This release featured more comfortable menus, more things to reach from your keyboard, prettier text formatting, revised themed frames functions, a better manual, a "New buffer with mode" function, many bugfixes, and much more.
