To assign buttons/pads to the drums/guitars lanes, you can use "Input Option" in CONDIGURATION - (Drums, Guitar or Bass).
Initial DTXMania has the pad assigns for YAMAHA DTX/DTX2/DTXPRESS series. So you must reconfigure pad assigns in case you want to use other E-Drums.
Moreover, initial DTXMania has no assigns to joypad buttons to avoid miss-hitting. It means you have to reconfigure pad assigns before you start using joypad (or GITADORA! controller with USB-PlayStation signal converter).
If you play DTXMania with (PC's) keyboard, there are some default key assigns. (You can check it at basic operation page) Of course you can reconfigure key assigns from the default ones.
Here is the example descriptions: how-to reconfigure drums key assigns. (I don't explain about guitar/bass key re-configurations, but you can do the same way to reconfigure them)
1. In case changing/replacing keyboard assign to other ones (keyboard, joypad, GITADORA! controller, E-Drums...)
For example, I describe how-to-change Hi-Hat (Close) key assign from "Z" key to "Left shift" key.
First of all, choose the item what you want to change. You can use arrow key and Enter key to choose it. Now you focus to HiHat(Close), then hit "Enter" key.
Then, all key/pads are shown what are assigned to HiHat(Close). By default, Key "Z", "MidiIn #0 code.42" and "MidiIn #0 code.93" are assigned.
Then push up/down arrow keys to focus "Key [ Z ]", and push Enter. "Hit key to assign" dialog will be shown. Now push Left-shift key.
As the result, the dialog will be disappeared, and "Key [ Z ]" is changed to "Key [ L-Shift ] (Left-Shift). Now you've finished changing key assign from Z to Left-shift.
You can configure other lanes (Snare, tom etc...) by the same way.
You can use not only keyboard but also joypad/E-Drums etc. At "Hit key to assign" dialog, you hit one E-Drum pad, then that pad will be assigned. (it will be shown as "MIDI #xx code.XX") If you hit joypad button at that dialog, "Button XX" "POV XX" "Left" "Right" etc are shown.
2. To assign several keys/pads to the same drum lane | Add new assigns
For example, you may think "Both key "X" and "S" should be assigned to the snare. It will make my continuous hits easier" or "GITADORA! pad should be assigned as a new assign".
If you want to do so, you can simply realize it by choosing the blank item, and push Enter to register new pad.
You can set 14 key/pads to each lanes.
However, if you assign the same key to the other lane, original assign will gone. For example, if you've assigned "Z" to HiHat(Close), and you assigned "Z" to Snare. Then, the assign of "Z" in HiHat(Close) will be disappeared.
# In other words, you can't assign the same key/pad to the several lanes.
3. Deleting key assigns
Choose the item to be removed. Then push "Delete". The key assign will be removed without any confirmations.
4. Back to Default key assigns
Choose "Reset All Assign" and "Enter" to restore the default key assigns.
