it provides a nice abstraction from the other tools and even publishes a
list of tasks (rake -T) so i don't have to remember specific arguments.

i haven't had any problems with the rakefile on trunk since it was
introduced, though i have ruby installed via macports in /opt/local - what
error is justin running into?
