I would probably be a bad idea to squeeze #45629 to 3.0.4 at this point. Who knows what assumptions the callers make about the fc_vsnprintf() return value (I know some do care).

However, the boundary check changes that I have in my current WIP patch, and which detected #45682, could be a good idea to include separately to 3.0.4.
