While main effort is to get gtk3x-client to compile with gtk-3.98 first, we should simultaneously already look for what it requires to be able to compile it with stable gtk4. For that goal gtkcompat.h should define a macro, say GTKCOMPAT_GTK4_FINAL, when being compiled against stable gtk4.
