pty-redir redirects stdin/stdout to a pseudo terminal, and is quite useful for things like VPNs under linux. Mostly useful for 2.0 kernels, but also works on 2.2 kernels.

The ID2 Daemon is a server for remote queries of the ID2 utility. It works in a way similar to that of finger, and could be a kind of replacement for it. ID2D shows only information from passwd structures; the ID2 Utility has more built-in functions.

iMuse (Internet Museum) is a tool for creating a picture gallery for viewing via the Web. It makes use of Javascript, and does not require CGI access. The author is not interested in maintaining the code, so anyone else is welcome to do so.

JLogAn is a Java Quake3 log analyzer that parses a server log and generates graphical statistics.

Nannie's basic purpose is to watch system files that should not be changed, at least in theory. It monitors them for change in inode, size, etc. and logs them to syslog.

notwhoami generates a random name, address, phone number, and birthdate.

Qbanner is a Perl+MySQL ad server (GIF, JPEG, PNG ads) with graphical, tabular stats and cache busting.

ithought is a personal thought manager, allowing you to create and store entries that can be linked together via keywords. Through the use of various modules, it is possible to do a number of things with these entries, including uploading to a website as part of an online journal. Modules can be written in C or in any scripting language. Modules are currently available to upload diary entries to kuro5hin, livejournal, and advogato.

Date::ICal is a base module for date and time
objects in Perl. It exists to provide a simple
abstract class that other classes can be based on,
so that conversion between different subclasses
(using different calendar systems, like Discordian
and Gregorian) is easy.

Pandora allows people to quickly and easily submit news to their Web site. It supports multiple user accounts, multiple pages of news, and short/full news/article viewing.

YAMN (yet another maildir notifier) is a bash-script that notifies the user of new mail in an inbox using the maildir-format (like qmail supports) with playing a sound-file (using "play") or starting an application (using "kstart"). It is intended to be started as a desktop-link. The script can be heavily personalized and it contents a good description of its features.

gdiva provides an interface for uploading files
to DIVA MP3 players. You can build a list of
files to copy, optionally using playlists, reorder
the list, and see the elapsed and remaining
time as the upload progresses.

Pfmon is a monitoring tool for Linux/ia64. It make full use of the IA-64 Performance Monitoring Unit (PMU). It can collect simple counts of events or can be used to run sampling sessions. A session can be applied to an unmodified binary or the entire system (UP or SMP). It currently supports the Itanium and Itanium 2 processors. For each, the entire set of model specific features is supported, such as opcode matching, address range restrictions, Event Address Registers (EARS), and the Branch Trace Buffer (BTB). Pfmon is based on the libpfm library.
